Mark and Dax

before after
First year 2nd term, after NSTP, Dax house . inc 4th year, Summer, Starbucks Tmall

One of the first gimmiks I probably had with DLSU people, Eastwood with these two guys. A lot has changed through the years, but a lot still remained the same. Haha!

Meet Dax:

This was how he used to look like then. That thing he's holding was part of our Christmas gift for him. Hahaha!

First Impression
Really nice guy. Trusted me easily, LPEP days. Haha! He was one of my first friends. And I got to bond with him at the south gate. Very VERY religious. And who I thought was one of the good looking guys in our block. haha!!

This is Dax now. :D Almost 3 years later. Haha! Fresh from Richmond, just around 5 days ago. Miss you!

Current Impression
Still a really nice guy. I think he still trusts me. hahaha! dapat lang! Still one of my first friends, but now one of the best friends I've found in DLSU. :D Even though you've been in the other side of the world for more than a year, around a year and a half I think. Haha d pa 2 years nh!! I don't think I was able to feel the distance. :) aww hahaha!

Meet Mark:
I don't really have a decent solo pic of you in that event. Hahaha! Anyway, So, this is Mark.

First Impression
Quiet.GI.Snob. Katabi ko sa LPEP, hindi ako kinakausap. Haha! Kaya naging bestfriend ko si Pan. Haha! Anyway, That quickly changed in our Orient1 class, wherein we were arranged alphabetically, I got to sit with him, and we talked nonstop. 2nd term came, Relsone, alphabetical again, bonding time again. 3rd term came, Formdev, we were groupmates. Haha! Relstwo came, church service, we went to the same church because we both didn't have a church. HAHAHA!!

So this is current Mark. Still not a decent pic. Kunwaring shy effect pa kasi e. whahaha!!

Current Impressions
Well, his impression already changed right after LPEP anyway. Haha! Also one of the best guys I've met in DLSU. Syempre, I get to talk/go out/bond with him more than Dax since he used to be on the other side of the world. Haha! 3 years of all that, would surely make you know someone I think, as a whole. Haha! Of course, those bonding sessions didn't stop when we stopped being classmates. But well, our not being in the same specialization didn't stop us from being classmates, like last last term for kaspil, and next term for litera. I don't think he changed much really, but he is, now showing more of him than he used to. hahaha! Wala eh, ayaw magpahug. Hahahaha!!

Nothing much has really changed in the past 3 years. Here's a brief comparison of our fun day then, and our day now.

2005: Eastwood. Pasig City
2008: Greenhills. San Juan

2005: We did an impromptu plan before going to school one Saturday morning, while Mark and I hitched a ride with Dax. haha!
2008: It wasn't an impromptu plan. oh wow. hahaha!

2005: no movie.
2008: still no movie.

2005: I ym-ed in Dax's pc, while them two played with Dax's PS2. hahaha!!
2008: I went inside Stoked Inc, while them two played CS in Netopia, beside Stoked. Hahahaha!!
2005 similar event: I went inside Shoe Salon, while them two went inside the men's washroom. HAHAHA!! yes I still remember this. Whahaha!!

2005: I was insisting on shopping, but of course, they won't go shopping so o well towel.
2008: Dax was insisting on shopping!!!! :o But.... It wasn't his lucky day. HAHA closed mga tiangge ng Virra!! Nagaayusan daw ata ng stalls.. :( Don't worry Dax, you have your whole summer. hahaha!!

2005: Since they didn't want to go shopping, there weren't any good movies, we hung out at Starbucks. :)
2008: Since we couldn't go shopping, there weren't any good movies, we hung out at Starbucks. :) HAHAHAHA!!

See, nothing much has really changed!! :D

Rubik's Cube

What's up with this colorful cube?

I remember when this plaything first came out, I was eager to get my hands on one of the(geek since birth??) but I never actually got to solve it. I have such a short attention span, which I still haven't gotten rid of until now, that I'd always just solve the top layer, as in just have one color in one square, and literally give up. I just didn't know how to go from there, and never really had much interest to solving it, since it required too much thinking time. I'm just too restless for these kinds of toys.

College came, my fascination for it came back because of Alex. He taught all of us from the Straight MS programs how to solve the cube. It was only then that I knew that the top layer was the first you have to solve, but not just have all the colors on top, but also have the edges on the right places. He taught us for solution for the 2nd layer, and I got to memorize it quickly, but again was not patient enough to study the 3rd layer. I remember Alex even created a 3d rubix cube application for his graphix class, and was able to solve it repeatedly without any sweat.

Now I'm working, and again I'm faced with an officemate who's intensely addicted to Rubic's Cube. He'd solve one of his cubes at least once a day. The 3x3, 4x4, or 5x5. But he hasn't solved our very own 2x2 yet ;). I finally got to finish until the final layer, and I've actually memorized them without a cheat sheet! Hooray for me!

Now I just want to know, if there's someone out there I personally know, who've actually solved the Rubics Cube without using a cheat sheet? When and How? Was it luck, or can you do it again? :D

Zooposedly Zoobic. = Impromptu Awesome Zambales Beach Trip!

Independence Day plans as of June 9: Anawangin beach bumming, island hopping experience.
-It was sometime May. Just a few days after our Sagada adventures. Still pretty high about our recent adventures, craved for more. Called up my adventure-mates. Planned another get-away plus more. Everyone was game, + a few others as well! The plans were rolling, everything was set!

Independence Day plans as of June 5: Anawangin beach bumming, island hopping experience.
-I texted the boatman in Anawangin to inquire about possible expenses and boating trips. Said they weren't accepting for the weekend. I said we were coming the next weekend. Asked for me to wait and see til Thursday to confirm weather conditions. We were persuasive. We still wanted to go. So it was still leaning towared let's do this!

Independence Day plans as of June 10: Zoobic + Ocean Adventure
-Weather still seems to be unpredictable. Asked the boatman again, said they still weren't accepting because of the waves. We could go by trekking but what good would it be without the island hopping adventure! Thought of going to Museo Pambata, but Peter just laughed. Suggested Zoobic and Ocean Adventure, at least we'll be having a roadtrip!

Independence Day plans as of June 11: Zoobic + Ocean Adventure + Whatever happens.
-Zoobic and Ocean Adventure still on the lead. Had more people than we had cars. Plans still weren't final. We were just, "meh, whatever happens!"

Independence Day plans as of June 12, 6-9am: Zoobic + Ocean Adventure + Whatever happens.
-This is it! We were on our way to Subic! It was just Jensen, Riva, Ricco, Xima, Peter and I. We were on the PeterPan-Mobile! Peter and Riva were having doubts about going to Zoobic. People said it's corney. But what the hell where else could we go! Stopped over to have McDonalds at nlex. Still no other ideas but Zoobic and Ocean Adventure.

Independence Day plans as of June 12, 1030am: Go to where Anna Castro is :)
-Reached Zoobic. Their website said it's around 300+. But really it's 440. Didn't seem quite interesting with the added doubts of people around me. Was also thinking of going to the beach! Peter said he hasn't been to a beach for 4 years. Remembered that Anna was on a surfing trip in Zambales. Hey! We're just an hour away from Zamba! Let's go!

Independence Day plans as of June 12, 1230am: Zambales Baybeh!
-Reached Liwaliwa in San Felippe at around 1230am. Upon arrival, left right away to have lunch at Dude's Pizza Shop. Food was delicious! Pizza, and their chicken. But service was terrible. It was just a small restaurant afterall, they probably weren't expecting such a big group.

Went back to the beach at around 230. Set up camp, Peter had his borrowed tent and his sleeping bag in the car for Anawangin, so we used it nonetheless. Swam for a while, waves were horrible! It really is a place for surfing. Not much of a place for swimming! It was fun, but scary and difficult! Took pictures everywhere. While the others went back for a few more surfs! Luigi's my favorite subject :) I wanna go back to the beachh!! Was such a short trip. Saw Sha there too! She suggested a dinner place, Xtremely Xpresso Cafe.

BIG HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP: DINNER!! Xtremely Xpresso was the best!!! The pizza, GOOD.. The Iced Tea, GOOD.. The Cream of Mushroom, GOOD.. The Ribs, AWESOME!

Here's to more adventures! Had so much fun! Nikki, finally! We got to go faaarr!! Sa uultin :)

Here are some shots I took on the trip: More shots in multiply.

The Sims 3

Since it's been taking up too much of my **sleep and socializing time, I've decided Sims 3 actually deserved a blogpost.

Now, I've been addicted to The Sims since the very first installment. Getting to control the life of someone, how could I resist! It basically took most of my days, since my days then just consisted of going to school, and going home. Yes, I didn't have much of a life back then so The Sims was all I had. It used to be such a mindless game, and I remember also not doing much else because of it. I got to play with Livin Large, Hot Date, House Party, and Vacation. But didn't really go much past that. It got tiring after the next few expansions. Well, once all your sim has completed up all skill points, and can basically go through a whole career in 10 days, there's really nothing more you can do.

Next up was the Sims2. It had a lot of different upgrades. Instead of your usual sims just living everyday, earning up skill points, and getting promoted, Your sim can actually get old and die. It could give birth, and the baby would grow up, and soon enough would also die. Now for some reason, this is the least game I got hooked on. But I do remember getting frustrated because I can't play it on my computer, but once I got my laptop, I really played it for hours on end, but I think only for around a week or so.

Ok so the 3rd installment has already been released, and already I've given up so much because of it. Since I didn't really play the second installment that much, I can't really give an in depth comparison, but this much I can tell, I'm definitely hooked on this one! I'm already on the 3rd generation of my family. I only created 1 original sim, they just keep on procreating.

Here's a picture of my first Sim, Bruce Awesome. He used to be hot, but sadly I didn't take any photos of him when he was still a young adult, to an adult. I only started taking screenshots whe he was already an elder. :(. He got to the age of 100, and he got to the level 10 of his field, and succeeded in becoming an Astronaut, his lifetime accomplishment. He was athletic, a flirt, lucky, and ok I forgot the rest of his features. He was great at his job, and he was great with his kids. He will be missed!

This is Alice. I only have 1 picture of her. She's the wife of my Sim. I can't really remember where they met? Haha! She's a little older than Bruce, so she died earlier too. But I didn't do much with her. She was unemployed when they married, so she just took care of their too girls.

Adrianne, Bruce and Alice's first child. She was born before wedlock. ;)) I didn't get to name her, but I got Alice and Adrianne to move in with Bruce when Adrianne was still a toddler. She's growing up to be a fine woman. She in the field of medicine, and is currently a trauma surgeon. She got to have a romantic relationship with Christopher, an old guy. He was just an adult when they started doing it, but suddenly celebrated his birthday a few days after they hooked up! :| They tried to make a baby at one point but didn't succeed. Tried again, then succeeded a day before Christopher died. So now Adrianne's a single mom with TWINS, darcy and Darcy. I didn't notice that Adrianne had twins so I "oopsiely" gave the twins the same name :|

Chloe. She's Bruce and Alice's second baby. Adrianne was already a toddler when I decided to get them to do it one more time. ;) She's been quite ambitious, with a career in being a criminal. She's still dreaming of going into the dark side! She already got through all 10 skill points for Athletic, still young in her years. She's currently wed with Chris Pena, who's just a few days younger than her. Surprisingly, while Chloe is in the criminals department, Chris is in the Police Department! Good thing their careers don't intercept with their marriage, else Chris would probably already have had her arrested! Around a day after Adrianne gave birth, Chloe gave birth to a healthy boy, I named Spock. For some reason I've been thinking of the name while she was giving birth! Haha!

The 3 babies are still infants, so I haven't had any screenshots of them yet. Maybe tomorrow :)

This was the first screenshot I took. I was just so alarmed to have seen a ghost, and then a few hours later, she was sleeping!! So I just had to take a screenshot!

This is a screenshot of Chris and Chloe making love. This is when the new baby, Spock was conceived!

OH I JUST LOVE BEING IN CONTROL :)

**I've been sleeping at around 2am everyday except for give or take a day or two. Then last Friday, I wasn't able to go online right away because of some internet problems, usually it'll just take about less than 5 minutes to restart the modem, but I forgot to turn it on again until 2 hours after playing. Then last Saturday(I'm so sorry Shelley!!), I wasn't able to turn on my cellphones the whole day because I was playing. Do Not Disturb. Haha! Plus, I keep on not replying to people's YM because of that. Haha! I had to result to using the Window Mode just so that I won't ignore everyone.

The Ultimate Adventure - SAGADA

Sagada -- is a 5th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province, Philippines. Popular activities include trekking, exploring both caves and waterfalls, spelunking, bonfires, picnics, rapelling, visiting historical sites, nature hikes, and participating in tribal celebrations.(wikipedia.com)

The Adventurers - Xima, Mark, Peter, Harvey, Rykiel, Karol, Muy, Shelley, Riva, Nez

The Roadtrip
Even the roadtrip was adventure enough. With our tire exploding in the middle of the highway, sleeping and numerous bumping for the people by the windows, the chips ambush, and of course the scenic views along the way.

Quotable Conversation--
Karol: (looking at PSP) "AAAHH INSEECT!!"
Peter: (excitedly) "San san??"
Peter: (disappointed) "Ahh insect, akala ko NSync.."
Riva: (laughing) "Naexcite ka sa NSync???"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The Inn
Stayed at the Residential Lodge, with Muy as my roomie. :) The place was pretty good, better than I expected. We had the whole floor to ourselves, so we had 2 bathrooms all to ourselves. There were also not much people staying actually, so we also got to use the extra 2 bathrooms at the 1st floor. There were a lot of sari sari stores and souveneir shops beside the inn, but there isn't really much of a view there.

The Adventures

Caving
Intense caving experience. Rapelling, Rock Climbing, Bat poop, Water Sliding, Swimming on Ice cold water, Steaming as if like human ice cream, and of course the photographs. Very tiring indeed, but definitely worth the adventure. Let the pictures, bruises and muscle pains speak for themselves! We survived the ultimate caving experience! Tip to all going there in the future: Always bring your camera. If you think you won't be able to take pictures, let the guides take your pictures. They're good at it!!

Quotable Conversation/line:
Guide: Wag mauntog, sayang ung bato.

Mini Trekking
Due to some ritual, we weren't able to do the actual trekking. Though we were able to go and swim at a small falls. I loved it! The water was very cold, and the scenery was just beautiful. This marked the end of Nez's Dior shades. :|

Sunrise Viewing
Went on a hike early morning. Was supposed to watch the sunrise, that would have been such a sight! But the fog was too thick so we really just had a very tiring hike. And a photoshoot as the ultimate relaxation.

Quotable Conversation:
Muy: (to manong jeep driver) Kuya, malayo pa ba?
Kuya: Oo!
Muy: Pwede pasakay na!!

2nd Quotable Conversation:
Mark: Let's enjoy the tranquility of nature. Gusto ko marinig ung chirp ng birds! (Tumahimik kayo. --referring to Nez and I)
Nez and I: CHIRPCHIRPCHIRP!

Scenery
Sagada overlooks their own Rice Terraces. It's really a place where the sky is bluer and the grasses are greener.

Culture

Weaving and Pottery
Sources of income for the locals

Church

Wasn't able to enter, but the others were. :)

Museum
Showed their great culture. How different the men were from the women, showed their different weaponry, and how they greatly praised idols.

Food

To excite my great addiction to yoghurt, Sagada has a lot of yoghurt choices. From the very famous Yoghurt House, to the homey Rocky Inn. Sagada is also famous for their traditional chicken called "Pinikpikan". They basically torture the chicken to make it more delicious. To be fair, the chicken was, delicious! Maybe worth the torture? :( We even ate quite A LOT! But the best food we had there was the breakfast meals at Salt and Pepper. Too bad we weren't able to buy a meal for the road home. I miss their omelette!! :)

Yoghurt House
Serving was big, yoghurt was great, but not as good as I expected. Service was slow but food was delicious :)

Residential Inn
We stayed here, so we were bound to try their food. It wasn't that awesome, nothing special, just your local cuisine.

Salt and P
epper
Breakfast -- Best meal we had! Their food was the best!! Loved their omelette and their longganisa!

Dinner -- Tried the Sagada speciality, Pinikpikan. Delicious! Everyone just ate too much! :D

Rocked Inn

Best yoghurt I had in Sagada! Their yoghurt pancake is a must try! But even just their simple strawberry yoghurt was already good enough :D
